House wine, available by the glass, at Il Focalare,Montespertoli. Back with Curly after 18 years. Reminds me of my previous favourite Chianti Classico, Rocca delle Macìe. A superb example of Chianti Classico. — 25 days ago

Sergioveto, chianti Classico, riserva, 2015 — 5 years ago
Very well balanced. A little fruity upfront dry on the back. Well structured wine, which will get only better with age. 2020 vintage — 6 months ago
This wine is medium dark garnet in the glass. The nose has a good supply of cherry and raspberry notes, dusted up with earth, tar and anise. The palate has a bit of licorice on it, but mainly serves as a showcase for the red fruit. There are some spicy elements, too. White pepper, nutmeg, and a very light clove sense brighten up the fruit. Tannic structure is firm and acidity refreshing. I had mine with a slow cooker red wine short rib dish, and the pairing was sublime. — 7 months ago
How do you not love drinking a Chianti when in Tuscany….

Fantastic Chianti. When you have to fight over the last drop, that’s always a good sign. Hard to pin down, though what stood out, it was certainly balanced, dark fruit vibrancy, but not really complex. Fine polished tannins and uplifting g minerality probably drove us to the next sip. Yeah, great Chianti. Even more intriguing is the story behind this winery. Ever heard of ‘Spaghetti Westerns?’ Well the famous movie director of these films was also at ground level of reinventing and reinvigorating Tuscany as we know it today. here is their story on our blog site https://spokenwines.com/our-blog/from-film-to-vineyard-the-legacy-of-rocca-delle-mac%C3%ACe — 2 days ago
