Fruits are baked. Blackberries, dark cherries, rhubarb, star anise, soft Asian spice, rich wet black earth, touch of baked green bell pepper, black olive, nice semi-sharp minerality. It's drinking somewhere just past it's high peak. Delicious!

One of the worst wines I have ever tasted. Ugly, no redeeming social or other value. Hat happened to elegance?? What happened to balance?? What happened to Mondavi??

Gifted half the bottle from a table tonight and I do love a wine that's old enough to drink itself. This 1994 vintage has a slightly faded color but not too bricky. The nose is solid red fruits with bramble, dustyness and vegetal notes. There are probably a few years left on this wine but I doubt it'll get better with more age. The finish lingers for a bit but not too long, backed by firm tannins and still lively acidity.

To kalon. Blackcurrant, plum, leather, liquorish and spice. Bitter sweet and tannin is pretty resolved. Quite smooth but have a savoury finish. Not too complex as i would expect from such a vineyard.
