Post dinner party notes. Third bottle I’ve had of this and by far the best yet. Amazing. Such a complex nose, with roasted herbal notes, dark spicy fruit, earthy mineral iodine notes Tannins just about completely resolved. Length and depth for days. Wow.

This has softened considerably since my last bottle several years ago. Nose is complex, with earth, cedar, cigar box, and an incense-like note. In the mouth, it’s rich but medium-bodied. The tannins that were so prominent a few years ago have significantly resolved. Entering (finally) its drinking window.

Smooth and silky, jumps right out of the bottle. Very enjoyable and entering very nice balance with subtle tannins. Delicious. Beautiful cassis notes as the wine opens up.

Was able to get my hands on another ‘10, deep Ruby inky with black fruit aromas, oak and spice notes. A blend of 88% Cab Sauv, 7% Cab Franc, 4% Merlot & 1% Malbec, aged in French oak for about 24 months. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry & blueberry flavors with sweet spice, notes of tobacco. Good balance and acidity, had fully developed tannins. This full-bodied wine had a medium+ finish, smooth, ending with leathery stewed fruit character, nice but no more Wow! Drink up, still enjoyable!

The 2015 ‘Oakville’ Cabernet Sauvignon is showing marvelously at its early stage in development. Needing a one hour decant to fully arouse, the wine slowly reveals ripe dark currants with tar and anise aromatics that take shape in the glass. The palate shows a excellent power and acidity with intense dark fruits, and shades of creme de cassis and Turkish coffee. Enjoyable now in its youth, this will continue to evolve over the next fifteen years. Drink 2019-2033

Decanted and quickly jumps out with loads of mature aromatics. Menthol, cigar box, old leather. At 45 years of age, this has held together and could stand up against old classed growth Bordeaux. 12% alcohol and incredibly well balanced.

Without doubt, this is the best example of this bottling that we’ve tasted. On the nose, it presents as fresh as a daisy. I swear somebody placed some blackberry jam in the bottle. The palate is just as intense with ripe black fruits, good viscosity, and nice sweetness. Finishes with spices and a hint of tobacco.
Renovations still in flight. Baseboards will be installed next week. Since they are aluminum, no contractor would install them. But the guy who installed the glass frame for our cellar is brilliant with metalwork, so the wait is over...

Drinking really well but no hurry. A mix of ripe red fruits (raspberries) with underripe black fruit (blackberries). Pipe tobacco, bay leaf, and some herbal nuances. Definitely a streak of “old school” notes down the middle like leather. Open or hold.
