Antique Amontillado Sherry

Amontillado characteristics:
Aged first under flor as a fino or manzanilla, then fortified to 17% to kill off the yeast and allow oxidation. Balances tension of lean texture with oxidation's complex, heady aromas.

What makes it special?
A model bodega focusing on small production, high-quality wines dedicated to tradition, this wine is first aged for 8 years under flor, then another 12 in the solera system. It is not for slugging back - this is an intense, intellectual, wine-geek's wine.

Magnificat Juvé & Camps

Medium Amber. Pronounced intensity with smoky leathery notes. Fully developed. Medium sweet full bodied palate with pronounced intensity showing notes of caramel and pistachio nuts - spicy with a long finish. Very good - drink now.

Brilliant. Fave Amontillado.

Profound Amontillado. So generous, yet still haunted by flor.

Hey beautiful Sherry, delicate, balance and lovely with food.

N: Smells like old boats at dock. Wood varnish,maple, nail polish, oats, salinity,
Caramel, burnished mahogany.
P: Oranges, multi layered nuts, a bite, some much petrol, oily. Years.

Dryer than it appears.
