Renzo Masi
Riserva Chianti Rùfina Sangiovese Blend
Chianti Rùfina, Chianti, Tuscany, Italy

Lively traditional styled Chianti displaying tart cherry and sun dried tomato Sangiovese notes. But, where this wine dominates is it's persistent tingling herbal component of fresh basil. A distinct strawberry backbone keeps the fruit prominent without being overbearing or "new world" in any way. Grippy black tea tannins and nervy acidity roll in through the finish. Smart integration of sweet tobacco and chewy leather. Balanced fruit, acidity, and tannic structure make this a great QPR. Cheers!

Bright red fruit on nose and palate. Good acidity. Good tannins. Pretty well balanced. Good QPR too.

A perfect pairing with tonight's sausage pizza and lasagna. Took me a minute to figure out who makes this wine, as the producer's name is in the smallest print. Dusty cherries, plums, leather, basil, tea leaves at the end. Fair acidity and a very soft mouthfeel make this chianti a winner.
Listening to my new addiction: a song called "Trickster" by Maromaro. Heavens to Betsy, I wish you would all check him out. A brilliant guitar player with his own unique voice.

Meh. Drinkable, but for the price there are better choices. A bit bitter

Dec 8th, 2022The cedar notes are - in my opinion - awful. The smell it gives the wine is almost RANK.
It’s present in the taste as well. I think it’s just the cedar - note to self, avoid.
