Fattoria di Basciano Chianti Rufina Sangiovese 2016

Lively and very classical nose. Tart cherry, violets, almost limestoney gravel (not sure if there’s actually limestone in the Rufina soil, but whatever), spice. Intense flavors. The cherry fruit is ridiculous, but shows some savory stuff as the long finish evolves. Some chalky, fine tannin. Very nice acidity. What a value! — a month ago
