We opened two different botlles and the first showed very young, still on the fruit(as it should be i think for a 2020) and vibrant
Second bottle looked more tertiary with a even more bricky appearance and scents of licorice, mushroom and tar.
Both where very fascinating, but at different stages of their life i would say.
Both had an intense explosion on the nose with the classic Rocche dell'Annunziata rose petals character.
Maybe we were just lucky to see the present and the future of this wine.

Sipping Fine Wine

Medium Ruby with aromas of floral, dark berry fruits and oak notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, ripe cherry, licorice, tobacco and savory vanilla oak spice wrapped in tight firm tannins that need at least 5 more years to start showing finesse. Long finish ending with fruit and earthy mineral spice. Let this one sit for a while, it is a beauty.

This wine is the best wine this winery has produced to date. Period. It captures this great vintage perfectly and while still youthful and fruity, it's also slowly starting to enter phase two, where we'll explore added complexity in terms of mineral elements, candied red fruit, fading flowers, licorice and gripping, yet silky tannins. The oak is already all gone - impressive showing.

It's lovely. Ripe, silky and generous, this is best consumed prior to 2025, as it lacks the true backbone fir long term ageing. Mine will all be gone within five years.

In a really good place now, could be timing or just the generous 2011 vintage but this is quite enjoyable and polished right now.

As expected from the vintage, this is ready to go. Sweetly textured and packed with ripe red and blue forest fruit flavors.

In my opinion, this is the greatest wine ever at the Ratti estate. Captivating aromas of beautifully naked red fruits completed by a out-of-this-world, lifted floral perfume. Striking precision on the palate, with a great sense of place.
