Nov 30th, 2024It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This is a gorgeous Napa Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend.
Showing a very aromatic nose, and very fruity on the palate with medium acidity.
Showing blackberries, cooked cherries, black plums, tobacco, diet cola, cedar, leather, vanilla, chocolates, licorice, spices, earth and peppercorn.
Long tangy finish with round tannins and cherries.
A great sipping wine. Delicious right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.
I've had a few vintages of this wine, and this 2016 is rocking. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Robert Parker 98 points. Wine Enthusiasts 94 points.
An excellent Cabernet that will pair nicely with a nice piece of steak. I had it all by itself by the lake.
A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.
14.6% alcohol by volume.
94 points.
$200.

Family on the way, so we’re pushing the boat out. Lovely expression of Napa.

Dec 23rd, 2022Balanced and sheer power characterize the 19 vintage. Too young at the moment, but this is destined for greatness.

Sep 25th, 2022It's time to celebrate with a great wine for #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Strong fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, raisins, dried figs, tobacco, spices, cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, chocolates, coffee, alcohol and peppercorn.
Full bodied, bold and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, figs, raisins, vanilla, cedar, licorice, cola, chocolates, mocha, coffee, peppercorn, earth and tobacco,
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Very tasty, rich and extracted, with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up. I gave it couple of hours to open up properly.
Still young and will age nicely in the next 10 to 20 years.
Robert Parker 100 points.
This 2013 vintage is drinking so nicely now. Very yummy, but might be too sweet for some.
A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon with 7% Petit Verdot.
14.6% alcohol by volume.
96 points.
$350.
