Popped and poured; enjoyed over lunch at Buvette. Deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of funky-fresh tart cherries, some horse stable, blackberries, pomegranate, river rocks. On the palate the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with some grippy minerals. Lovely with lunch! Drink now through 2032.

Like another reviewer noted—smells like old rioja. Delightfully dry. Leather, slate, star anise (gluhwein spices), vanilla, fantastic mid-palate, shorter lightly tannic finish. Another Perez winner.

Graphite and stem- inflected red fruit. Spicy goodness.

Really interesting mencía. First impression was of aged Rioja, leathery goodness, light to medium bodied. Evolved and opened up to more red cherry fruit with hint of smoke. So delicious and fun to drink.

Dark fruit and a cool streak that reminded me of northern Rhône syrah. A big wine but it doesn’t hit you over the head. Tannins are relatively soft, wine is silky and open, maybe the whole cluster effect
