Blackberry bramble with a woody earthiness and hints of sweet tobacco. The fruit shines through on the pallate and altogether off-dry it has a slight sweetness which compliments the flavor. Paired with a lovely spring bonfire! ($8.5) [5/6/17]

2 people found it helpfulJun 17th, 2017Vintage 2014 - Dão is a sentimental wine, a youth love. It was powerfull and spicy when I drank it in my youth. This wine is funky frivolous, silky structure, a touch of spices. Milk chocolate in the smell. Made of three grapes: touriga nacional, tinta roriz and alfrocheiro. Great wine to give your day a silver edge. Very good p/q.

40% tinta-roriz
20% touriga nacional
Funky, musky nose that settles down into some nice floral red fruits, if not entirely dirt-trodden. Palate is smooth, bright and juicy. The acid keeps you coming back but the earth on the nose may keep you away.
