Hoisin, soy, tahini, black cherry, blueberry, ash. Funky, complex wine with loads going on in the glass. Crazy finish of berry compote and oven toasted spice. Love it.

Improved since last time I drank this - much more ripe - even a baked dark fruit character… some earth driven elements but fairly straight forward with lovely balance & poise. Cohesive, nice acidity and smooth finish. Built for the intermediate haul as entry level Rioja.

Meh, expected a lot more. I’ve have the old Riserva from this winery going back to late 90s. This as an entry level is OK - remains in the traditional Rioja style w/delicate red fruit spice & some juicy acidity, but this was a bit too thin & lacking density of flavor. Again, low price point & fairly enjoyable but had higher hopes.

Not a bad Rioja, but there are lots of others in a similar price range that I like better.
