Aug 8th, 2024May have either been slightly corked, muting flavor and aroma, or in a very awkward spot. Very disappointing!

Jan 16th, 2023This needs a quick decant and it’s good to go. Love this bottling for this vintage the best. Previous notes apply. Magnificent! TBL

Nov 27th, 2021Austere, mineral, fine-boned and etched tannin. Crushed cherry, orange, white pepper, crushed herbs, porcini and hoisin. Exactly what I wanted in Nebbiolo tonight

Sep 4th, 2021This was incredible. A light quick decant just to smooth out some furry tannins and this is rocking. Balanced smooth fruits and a long finish. Great sipping and awesome food wine. TBL

Aug 23rd, 2021My first check-in with the 2011 “Ovello”. Popped and poured. Consumed over two days. On the nose, predominately red fruited with raspberry and pomegranate, walnut, some spices, red flowers and forest floor. On the palate, red fruits, almonds, and forest floor. High tannin and medium-plus acid. Overall, this is a very serious wine and tremendously satisfying. It held up really well over the two days it was open…which leads me to believe that these have a long life yet ahead. I’m very happy to gave several bottles remaining and look forward to checking in on their development for years to come.

May 6th, 2021Cherry liqueur nose, very pretty if a little one-note at the moment. Attack is deceptively sweet, but soon turns into electric kool aid acid, tempered by a lovely crystalline texture. Then some green medicinal herbs join in through the long fuzzy-tannic finish. Ripe but oh so fresh, concentrated but feather light, just intense enough... good things to come.
