2005. In great shape 14 years on. Fairly intense aromas of black cherry, spice, dried leaves. Crisp and lively flavors of dark fruit, saddle leather, and hints forest (earth leaves etc)

Nose & flavor of orange peel & sour cherries. Zippy acidity. Elegant, well-balanced wine. My last bottle. End of an era!

Dark, brooding, powerful and masculine in style but not lacking for beauty. Tons of depth and tannic structure. Tobacco, mint, leather and cedar are fairly dominant right now but there’s a juicy dark cherry component that shines throughout (with a hint of vanilla). The freshness and buoyancy make this a complete and fulfilling effort. This will be beautiful to drink in another 2-3 years. Outstanding.

Dry at first but opens and becomes fruity and yummy. Great with pasta and pork.

A nice find in the cellar. This is drinking great with complex, savoury elements; leather, cedar, dried fruits, a hint of soy like umami.

2013 opened March 2024. Intense scent of leather on the nose, cherries and Cassis on the front. Bold tannic structure. Lots of high notes on the finish, but there’s a distinctive, bitter undertone that accompanies the high notes. I could do without that bitterness. I’d rate this wine higher if it weren’t there. The finish is long. Interesting that it fades, but comes back when one swallows again after tasting.

2017 is exactly what I would have in mind if ordering a Classico at a restaurant. Wonderful aromas and flavors with great balance. Very food friendly.

Beyond solid Chianti Classico. Took me right back to Tuscany. Dusty cherry and strawberry aromas. Signature Tuscan terrior, iron, bricky, theater notes with burnt orange peel are presented. Mouth watering acidity and soft velvet tannins creep up with a few sips and are refreshed with an accompanying ragú. Stellar Sangiovese at a great price. Salute
