Desires 1.5-2H decant to smooth out rough, young cherry notes, then delicious. Mild tannins diminish.

A great bottle. Floral and lifted. Anise and mid season cherries and xmas spice. Woodsy. Palate is ripe, juicy and charming. Fresh and energetic and velvety, powdery tannins. Great length. Grippy but also gluggable.

This bottle shows quite a lot of anise for a red. Very drinkable though.

Rustic and zesty. It’s got crunchy wild cherry fruit and loads of wet Novarese gravel, with a little barnyard funk. Lively and crisp in the mouth, with a bit of chalky tannin to give it a little physicality. It was fantastic to wash down pasta bolognese.

UPDATE: On night two, this wine has put on a bit of weight. Upping rating from 8.9 to 9.0.

Nose has vanilla, ripe and tart cherry, ripe blueberry, ripe plum, wet granite and light baking spices.

Palate has ripe raspberry, high acid cherry, ripe cherry, medium tannins, crazy fresh fruits, an assault on the palate. 85% Nebbiolo / 15% Uva Rara. Decanted ~2hrs, need more time on future bottles, very young still.

Paired with a long cooked Bolognese sauce over some just amazing Pappardelle, fantastic pairing.

Lovely nose. Tweed jacket, licorice, earthy, ripe and juicy. Terrific acidity, deeper than sass russ, ripe and really wonderful tannins. Long. Very pure. Very long. Excellent. Really powerful and wonderful structure and super velvety tannins pump out the deep licorice/black/red cherry pure fruit.

Wonderful blend of 85% Nebbiolo and 15% Uva Rara. Love these Alto Piemonte cheapies. Beautiful nose of licorice, flowers, deep red berry fruit, lovely minerality when so well made. Beautiful aromas. Palate is so juicy and well balanced with gorgeous purity and freshness. Loads of cherry fruit and wonderful texture. Terrific wine and another summer Nebbiolo sipper.

Nice wine from alto Piemonte. Quite a lovely and typical Nebbiolo. Great balance of fruit and earth. Some refreshing acid on the finish which elevates this. Good pairing with meatballs.

Lovely nose - at this stage, the aromatics are more advanced than the palate. Sweet elegant fruit; astringent tannins on the finish showing further developments lie in store. Easy drinking, but structure & purity take this above and beyond strictly glou.

A delayed Christmas dinner with my parents, not seen for a few months because of my work travel schedule. Safety First.

No new notes today. Our last bottle...I knew we'd never be able to keep the corks in these bottles for more than a year after getting them, delicious!
