Barolo Nebbiolo

Opens up with brightness and splash of pomegranate, cherries, tangerine. Hints of leather and earth blend with tannins and a moderate acidity into the finish.

Beautiful, young barolo. When first opened, it was a tannic, tobacco laden monster of a wine that I loved. It softened with time, as expected, and yielded more flavors of cherry, licorice, and higher acidity.

2008. A savory sledgehammer. Nose has balsamic, leather, menthol, dried cherries, and scorched earth. Earth, balsamic, and leather in the mouth, overwhelming the fruit. Lots of puckery tannin and some heat in the finish. Not my style.

Mushroom, lots of tannin. Good with truffle pasta

Deep garnet color. Aromas of cherry, plum, violets and red licorice. Deep red fruit flavors, oak and tannic. Very sexy nose on this wine.

Smooth, well balanced, velvet, easy to drink, medium body, light tannins. Beautiful old world grapes make this one of the most drinkable Italian wines we’ve ever had. Pairs especially well with Cacio e Pepe and other higher fat content pastas.

Cherries, some raisins, leather, tobacco notes, and some nice black pepper. As with most Italian red it came alive w food.

Still a little tannic and tight, starting to show fruit with berries being most prevalent
