Bigger style Syrah, but has mellowed with age. Oak spice, dark fruits, pepper and med plus body.

We had it fairly chilled. Needs some diligent decanting as there is a prodigious amount of sediment. This wine had a fair amount of new oak on it at fermentation and elevage, so I was expecting that oak to still be an overwhelming mask on the wine. Not at all. There is definitely the presence of oak and a higher alcohol level than what we produce today, but there is still savory finesse in this wine--particularly in the mouthfeel.

So much joy! Wondrously & immensely intriguing #wine with loads of white pepper, cinnamon, violets, & crushed phrygana on nose with palate embracing waves of textural bliss.

Still deep purple. Initially closed aromas that weren't helped by pairing with southern style BBQ. I think the vinegar really killed this wine, it also made the palate super dry. The last glass was the best, when it got more air the nose really opened up with menthol tinged blackberry. This has serious gravitas and cab take more time.
