Seemingly more youthful than the notes on my last bottle, about 20 months ago, would suggest. A fair amount of bricking at the rim, but the nose shows a nice integration of dark macerated cherry, Provençal herbs, iodiney minerals, and sun-baked earth. In the mouth, the tannins are there but resolving. Decent concentration, and sneaky acidity lifts it up a bit. Nice!

Truncated (nonexistent) party notes. Beautiful, softening, going tertiary.

The most unusual wine of the year, thus far. This Brunello is atypical in many ways. Color is dark ruby with a nice brick orange hue; nose is full of pine cone and resin and juniper (pyrazines?) flowery like a mature barolo without the tar; it is like a bouquet of roses and freashly-picked meadow wild flowers, there are some oak flavors and dark fruits but that’s in the background; taste is also unusual in that the acid level is low but are carried by the ”acidity” of hefty tannins, mid-palate is weak but the finish is long, satisfying and contains all the elements from the nose. Highly unusual and unique; confusing!
For entertainment value the score is 9,5!

Rich, deep, intellectual and yet a crowd pleaser as well. Anyone who tastes it will recognize the quality; those who go in for this kind of thing will want to go all in

Perfect example of a Brunello Di Montalcino, served with Lamb in a red wine jus and you have a meal that really enhances the character of the wine. A deep ruby colour with an aged strawberry rim. Youthful, fruity aromas with a deep complex light and dark berry flavour. There is also a light smoked, cigar box finish and plenty of tannins for a long to medium finish. Buy in Morrisons for around £18 a bottle, bargain for an authentic taste of Italy!

Tart cranberry, dried raspberry, dried floral, nice acidity. Leathery tannins that build. Good structure and finish.
