Vintage 2013 | Distinguished Sangiovese with autumn leaves, hint of truffle, tertiary tones. Elegant taste, high in bitters. My only criticism are slightly drying tannins. Dinnerwine.

Reviewing this again two years after the last.
Great Brunello considering it wasn’t a good vintage.
Still can use a few years. I remember buying this on sale for like… $35.

I didn’t have high expectations for this.
A six year old Brunello? It shouldn’t be ready...
And it wasn’t...
But it was closer to ready than not (if that makes any sense).
I have another that I will see in another life (brother).

Very interesting and unique expression of a Brunello. Typical black cherry and floral aromas but also notes of pine resin, fennel and balsamic vinegar. Also some pyrazine. Expressive cherry and raspberry fruit flavors along with hints of black licorice and herbs. Grippy tannins and firm acidity. Different.

Big heady nose with vanilla, wood, marzipan, prune, brownie. Palate is juicy and full, complementing the aforementioned rich flavors from the nose with fresh acids and a warming alcohol bite. Tannins are firm and the wine finishes on the refreshing side with enough acid to handle a rich meat or sauce. I thought this was quite nice.

Зелёное, дым, копчёность, черные ягоды. Среднее тело, хороший средний по с танин, немного шершавый, средний финиш.
