Thanks to the wine staff at Frasca for steering me to this. Wonderful dinner, great staff. Taste just kept moving around, in a wonderful kind of way. Strawberry multiple ways, licorice, pencil, dust. 14.5 ABV, and just mellow as can be. Loved it, as did Jan, who did much more than her usual 2 sips. And yes, Frasca has outstanding wine service!

Certainly not modern in character, but also not that classic, the elegance and purity here are a rare occurrence in Montalcino where power, firm structure and oak (modernists) dominate the landscape.

A beautiful and sensual wine, the tannin are fine but firm, and fruit and nuance are tightly wound. This is all primary still at 9 years of age from nose to finish so wait a few more years.

2007 was warm growing season, but there is not even a trace of heat.

Opened up after an hour or so. Leathery and sour, burnt brown in color, medium -bodied. Disappointed in this brunello for the price.
