Belle Côte Chardonnay

The 2021 Chardonnay Belle Côte is a wine of tremendous density and power. Orchard fruit, dried pear, graphite, anise and dried flowers infuse the 2021 with tremendous flavor complexity. Readers will find an intensely mineral, savory Chardonnay with the fruit pushed into the background. Belle Côte is the original Chardonnay planting at Peter Michael. 16’ Peter Michael Bella Cote (Rued vineyard). Peach, honeydew, toasty oak, fig, apricot & tangerine. Moderate acidity & ends with a long, expansive flavors. Another extraordinarily well-made wine by PM.

Tangy, wood not fully integrated yet but tasty chalky well made Cali chard.

Medium greenish yellow. Lovely nose with some light butter, green apples,l and some tropical fruits. Great acidity (6/10) and full bodied. Insanely creamy and lush with delicious acidity. Layers of tree fruits, creamy and stone fruits. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2026.

I don’t think I have even gotten a note of banana bread pudding on the nose of a wine before. Wow! Mint and honeycomb. A slight waxy character note too. Viscous, large and in charge. Commands attention from everything else on the table. Candied vanilla marshmallow? So unique and incredibly delicious. Awesome bottle @Dan Fitzgerald .

Good not great. A touch got with alcohol and lots of weight. Big white.

More width than length, very floral and herbaceous and not as comforting as the Intrada I was comparing it to. Hold.

This wine is crazy crazy gooooood - it is worth every penny - so amazing the palette works from the structure to deliver a brilliant experience

Another 4th Friday for the books! What a variety this month!

Fantastic nose of honeysuckle, peach pith, and a slight bit of mint. I actually think this needs quite a bit more time...or a very long decant. Felt like it never really opened to its potential in the amount of time it was open. Wouldn’t be scared to hold for a few more years.

White wine of the day. Absolutely killer drinking window. This isn’t buttery popcorn, but more salted popcorn kernel. Lots of mineral-ality here. Wet rock. Almonds. White flower. Stunning!
