Koonunga Hill Autumn Riesling

2013 vintage. Turkish delight! Maybe some Gewirtz in the blend? Good Riesling. But some fatness - acidity on the medium side. Quite complex. Decent indeed.

Bracing lime rind and citrus.

2014 vintage - too much lolly & sugar - virtually no mineral - a very forgettable wine

V13 zesty and fresh, great balance of fruit with acidity. Moreish! Where was I?

Good acidity and length bit of traminer in it nice linerality citrus and melon flavours

Smells zesty, lime, and floral. Acidic, very dry, not much sweetness. Has a strong astringent/bitter aftertaste that lingers. Not very pleasant. Compared against Selbach German riesling, which everyone preferred. Bought from DFS online, $20-$30. Taco lunch, National Day.

I hate the nose. Petrol and rubber with white flowers don't work 🤭 Left it for a week in the fridge and then the palate really surprised me - it's now got a lovely stone fruit character (limey at first) and a cool salinity. Not the the most commendable length or complexity, but it was still quite a nice sip. Nose was still terrible but at least it's just petrol and rubber left.

2015. Tasted better in the Australian tasting room, but Autumn Riesling pares well with the annual viewing of Love Actually.
