Imaginador Itata Cinsault
Beautiful aromatics, red fruits and something almost eucalyptus like. Lots of fruit, lots of intriguing herbal and garrigue, super fascinating wine. Keeps opening up to new and unique expressions of itself. So nice and light bodied, but with medium tannins.

Nov 12th, 2022Smells of sea foam and snickerdoodle
Super meaty wine up front - loads of herbs and layers of fruit and herbs, and fruit. Like a savory pastry.
Wild - saline, stone fruit (including stone) every drink must be a contemplative sip.

I will like to see how this evolves in the cellar, right now over 6 hours pop and pour it started with red berries and garden herbs, silky and fine tannin, dense with flavor but light as a feather. It reminded me of a Beaune red Burgundy meets a Chinon. The herbs by hour 4 were well of into the background behind some very perfumed, regal fall like savory red fruits. Very interesting to see Cinsault stripped bare. 30% or so stem inclusion.

Sep 12th, 2021From one of the leading lights of the Chilean counter movement of wine, Pedro Parra, a doctor of terroir, soil and a very talented and well respected winemaker.
The Imaginador Cinsault is sourced from granitic soils in the region of Itata, dry farmed of course. Partially whole clusters, light extraction and matured in a mix of old oak and concrete for 12 months.
It is definetely not a shy wine, near provacative in its profile yet with respect and the fundamentals intact. Ripe but fresh strawberries, bramble, red currants with a very prominent savouriness of crushed stones, black pepper and an almost overwhelmingly smoked meatiness. Palate is light and fresh, directed by its acidity, a slight, smooth grip from the tannins, good fruit intensity but falls a wee short on the final. Quenchanble but serious and a fun drinker.

Floral, briary, strawberry jam, raspberry, rhubarb. Nice spice character with elegant, linear quality with fine acidity. Undervalued varietal in Chile.

Very fresh, strawberry and currant in body but a thin lackluster finish.

Nov 2nd, 2021Give this one a proper 1.5 hour decant, tight, needs to relax. Also deserves proper wine glass, I used a glass tumbler.
Enjoying by the glass, it was fun to witness it unfold. Tight, earthy, tannic, and not very expressive at the beginning, later a floral and raspberry note showed up in the nose. Earthy on the pallet.
9.1 for my experience, could achieve 9.3 with proper handling.
