Sep 6th, 2024Easy to drink, but I’m not blown away by it. But it was simple and clear (taste wise) to play “what is this wine?” with my husband. Garnet red with slow forming, clear tears, no color variation, and no noticeable opacity. Smells of underripe blue fruit, new leather, and white mushroom (fresh). Taste of blue fruit, but as if it was quickly and briefly sautéed (flash heat), nutmeg and other baking spices. Sightly dry aftertaste but it doesn’t last. Drink this while petting a cockapoo. Like the wine, it’s a blend and is a crowd pleaser.

Oct 31st, 20212018 vintage. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. It seems to me that you cannot go wrong with Caroline Frey. Even this organic entry level Côtes du Rhône has character. Smells like violets. Spices and clean red berries, lively acidity and enough tannic bite to keep it interesting. Great value at less than 9 euros. Abv. 14%.
