My favorite domestic and Argentinian producer, all these years later Paul Hobbs' wines don't miss a beat! Not to mention my favorite all time vintage 2002! Color: A velvety, ruby red core, with a tad of brick color before the outer band of rose. Nose: Black cherry, licorice, a bit of creme and dried purple flowers throw secondary aromas. Palate: Waves of black cherry, cedar notes, the purple flowers, and some round creaminess like creme d'cassis, the texture is sharing both mature and youthful traits with the latter still holding sway. Good acidity, medium-fine tannins and a long finish, this absolutely is my favorite vintage of this wine.

Not the best bottle of this I have ever had, but this is from a different batch. The nose and palate showed savory notes with plum sauce, mocha, and black muddled fruits. The nose is very expressive and potent, flowing from the glass as if the flavors are evaporating and finding my nose. The tannins are medium and fully integrated into the wine. Drink now! #napa #paulhobbs

2002 vintage in November 2021. Still holding fruit in the front, good color, and a pleasant bottle of wine. After being open a half hour it showed some fatigue and became a bit drying in the back. Probably a little past it’s prime but still good with a steak.

Classic Napa cab from Paul Hobbs, this one is probably past peak by a couple of years but still drinking beautifully. Great aromatics, full-bodied on the palate with great balance, it's an example of how well CA wines can age with a great winemaker at the wheel!
