Pascal Jolivet
Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc

Outstanding sancerre, strange turkey sausage aroma on opening, dissipated with 30 mins in decanter. Wicked citrus and the slightest hint of pepper on nose, extreme chalk minerality coats the palate, big mid-palate concentration, typical pyrazines of sauv blanc hardly detectable here --no n .z sauv blanc can match this power. -2013 vintage

Steering clear of dominate pyrazine notes this is awash with green apple, sour gooseberry, candle wax, kiwi fruit, lemon soother and stoney minerality. Hits the palate with authority delivering flavour and depth in spades with high acid and a soaring finish.

It is the balance of acidity and minerality that won me over on this vino. Tropical notes and pear come through on the mid palate. Really must comment on how nicely balanced this wine is.
