Nice cherry and pine needle nose. Flavor is complex with licorice and chocolate cherry tones. Full bodied. Balanced with lots of tannin and plenty of acid too. Fruit lingers long and lovely. A great example of the Spanish skill at winemaking.

2013, Pares Balta, Mas Petit, 75% Cab Sauvignon, 25% Garnatxa, Penedes DOC. Interesting wine that I didn't like the first night open. After a couple of days it added body and a great spice component. Very unusual blend. Tasty but nothing special.
