Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Strong nose of black plums, black currants, coffee, cooked cherries, cedar, earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, currants, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, light iron, spices and peppercorn.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious 5 year old Merlot from Oakville in Napa Valley. Rich, robust and fruit forward. Elegantly powerful.
Already showing a beautiful nose, and feels like a Napa Merlot with a touch of Saint Emilion.
This Single Vineyard Merlot is one of the last vintages made by
Heidi Barrett. Still young, but very approachable even by itself.
Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Has good potential to become a 94 point wine
Needed a couple of hours in the decanter to open up properly, so be patient.
A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with food.
A blend of 99% Merlot with
1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 18 months in (50% new) French oak barrels. A small production of
603 cases.

Owned by Ren and Marilyn Harris who purchased Paradigm in 1976 and began producing wine with the 1991 vintage. Marilyn is a third generation grower in Napa Valley and Ren has been farming since the 1960’s. A blend of 98% Merlot & 2% Cab Sauvignon, aged for 20 months in French Oak. Dark Ruby with sweet black berry fruit aromas with notes of toasty oak. On the palate black cherry and blackberry flavors with pepper and vanilla oak spice on smooth fine tannins, nicely done. Lingering finish ending with toasty oak tones.
