Hints of apple and hazelnut with some smoke and citrus. Acidity still shows they, but not enough.

Sep 18th, 2016The 2014 Omero Pinot Gris flirts with being an orange wine, and has a noticeable pinkish hue due to an astonishing 18 days of skin contact followed by lees stirring. I've found that domestics made in this style can be leesy or slightly bitter, and yet the Omero has neither quality. Instead subtle aromas of dried apricot and catmint reside under a fine layer of chalkboard dust. It's nicely balanced, beautifully textured, and is etched by bright acidity with underripe pineapple notes, minerals, and saline. Sample

Jul 2nd, 2015Such great, round structure from the skin contact. playful white with depth. Money with pasta in white wine sauce. (Also I used the pinot gris in the sauce. ... so good)

Nov 2nd, 2016The wine has a slight, lovely orange-ish tint. From what I understand it's from extended contact with the grape skins. I loved this wine. It's bright and acidic with a hint of spice. It has a long finish and warmly lingers on the palette. Need to buy another bottle ASAP.
