First off, I forgot it in the freezer and screamed when I remembered.
Still, the nose was heady and exuberant. The palate is dense, viscous and waxy. Peaches and pineapple blend with honeycomb and soft acidity. Such a decadent example. We love this full-throttle example, but recognize it’s not for everyone.

Monthly WTF wine group tasting. This month’s theme was chardonnay from any region or vintage. Nice eclectic bunch!

I am aware of the relationship between Odette and Plumpjack, and while I don’t know the differences in their reserve Chardonnay winemaking, this Odette is (for my taste) incredibly superior to the Plumpjack version. Modern Cali chard with a touch of restraint (I think there is some stainless used here). Aromatically it shows ripe stone fruits, melon and clove, while the palate is quite viscous with melon, lemon cream, Powdered lemon bar, and lemon oil. Lots to like here. Thanks

14' Odette Reserve Chardonnay. Well balanced/ medium+- bodied chard. Notes to come. Edit - Light creamy -tropical fruits(little) with moderate vanilla/oak. I would decant this wine for 30 minute ... much better. Nice chard. 5+ great years in it. Edit- Just not enough fruit showing💤.

Very appreciative of this bottle. This surprised me with its basic label and twist top. All I can say is, damn!! This is a sleeper.

Don’t mind the sweat. This wine is exceptional if you like buttery chards. Very dense and rich, like it should almost be used to baste a steak!
