There was this hint of fresh melon and mint that was a combo I had never experienced before in wine (but we've been eating this a lot all summer so it must be on my brain)

true to vintage overall medium in body starting strong up front but finishing light like satin or silk ~ complexity of the nose slides from the fruity and freshness of a wild raspberry patch, to herbs, sous bois and damp earth ~ palate continues the theme but adds plum and black cherry to fruit, deeper botanicals to herbs, and a string iron presence that finishes with a powdery mineral sensation

No formal notes . Medium garnet Ruby. Quite floral still , light red fruits, cherry . Sweet fruits on the palate but quite tannic still , with refreshing and bright acidity . Quite a big wine on the palate , with darker fruits. Intense with good length . Starting to drink well from now , and over the next 10 years I would imagine

Praleum w SL. Gorgeous nose. Wine in its prime. Delicious.
Very sweet and spicy nose, though not desparately intense. Very correct and quite racy. Correct but not as massive as one might expect at this price. 2004, JR18
