Just opened a 1981 that was not professionally cellared. Original price tag of $7.98! Brownish tint and clearly oxidized. Cork was still barely in tact. After 30 min or so opened up and was a pleasure. Still ok fruit and tanins were soft. A delightful experience.

I had at Ad Hoc. Complex, earthy, lots going on. Paired with smoked meat.

Very floral nose with mild black licorice and Concorde cherry notes. A balanced finish makes it such a winner!! 2013 vintage on 12/2/2018

Drank during steak dinner with brother. Very easy to drink.
