Tonight I had a taste for Champagne and I have opened the Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut. A blend of mainly Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and 10% to 20% Chardonnay.

On the nose there is musty pear, strawberry, bruised apple, lemon, toast and yeasty bread

On the palate there is creamy lemon curd, citrus notes, lemon, brioche, toast and limestone.

This wine is medium bodied with a creamy mouth feel. There is an abundant creamy mousse with medium + acidity that leads to a medium to long fresh finish. A nice ending to a long day doing chores around the house. Continue being safe and have a great rest of your weekend. Nostrovia! 🍾🍾🍾🍾

Medium lemon; medium plus intensity aromas of yellow fruit, green apple, underripe apricot, chalk, intense autolytic notes of hay, smoke, and a bit of cabbage; dry, high acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors of yellow fruit, chalky mineral, intense autolytic notes, long finish; very good

Biscuits, peaches, white flowers. These were both enjoyed at lunch, to look at rather than eat in the floral instance, and some of the notes found in this eminently drinkable Champagne. Small bubbles, some acidity and focused flavors made for a lovely pairing with a delightful Labor Day Weekend spread.

So quaffable. Moët Brut Imperial has really become a reliable NV. White peach, citrus and a touch of brioche. Zippy. Long-ish finish.

Gosh...for some reason, I always expect this wine will be “meh” and it rarely is. This was a really nice bottle of NV Champagne.

First wine on our Labor Day week cruise and from Royal Caribbean.

Pale yellow with tight, tiny bubbles. A touch yeasty on the nose, almost of biscuits and some nutty notes. Moderate acidity (5.5/10) with a light to light plus body. More going on in the palate with lemon notes, minerality, and some floral notes. Seems to be a bit tired. Short plus to medium finish. Drink till 2018.

Has a soft nose with a fruity clean smell. It goes down smoothly and has that dry finish at the end the way a brut is suppose to. Bubbly texture as it goes down with a very crisp sour apple taste.
