Deep purple in color, medium bodied. 52% petit Verdot, 26% Malbec, 22% Cab. Nice blend of blackberry and plum. A little earthy on the nose but has a smooth finish with slight tannins. A bit peppery.

Blend 52% Petit Verdot, 26% Malbec & 22% Cab Sauv, deep Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits with notes of black pepper. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and ripe plum with cacao, leather and pepper. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with cedar, vanilla and black fruits. Good value.

This wine was a bit disjointed. Some decent fruit and tannins but it lacked a harmonious overarching theme. Paired fairly well with a steak.

28 months in new and used oak. Inky and dark, plush and mouth filling. Well made.

Ugly Petit Verdot dominating this tannic blend. Black, candied berry demands some attention amidst grimy, heavily extracted dryness.

Beautiful rich wine. Touch of pepper in the finish. Black cherry overtones. A wine worth the price by a long shot

The 52% Petit Verdot comes from Matchbook’s Dunnigan Hills estate vineyard, the 24% Cabernet Sauvignon is taken mostly from Sonoma County’s Chalk Hills area, while the 24% Merlot hails from Lake County. Production was 2,878 cases, the wine hits an alcohol mark of
13.8% abv and retail pricing is $22.
The nose is big and fruity, with a dark, spicy smoke on it. A fruit-forward palate follows, with notes of sage, anise, coffee and a bit of graphite. Nice tannic grip means fire up the grill, and the finish sings of blackberry and nutmeg.

Toasted chocolate covered cherries that took a quick dip in the fire. Let 'er open up a bit and there's some added intrigue for the nose. The tannins approach chewiness but remain on the tame side of that traverse.

A balanced blend that's very approachable. In the glass, it's a deep dark robe thanks to the petit verdot that makes up over half of this blend. Cab Sauv and Merlot make up the other half.
