Beautiful Rioja. Less earthy, more fruit, nice acidity. Layers of cassis. 93Pts James Suckling always on the high side, but ok.

Drank 2/25/21

Red cherry, leather, and oak scents lead to black cherry, earth, tar, and smoky flavors. Well balanced with medium plus body and a medium plus, dusty finish. A very nice rioja.

This is a very tasty 5 years old Rioja. Showing black fruits with earth, cedar, spices, vanilla, licorice, green olives, peppercorn, dark coffee, black tea and dark chocolates.

Dry on the palate with medium plus acidity. Showing a great aromatic nose.

Nice tangy finish with round tannins and tangy pomegranates.

Good right out of the bottle and better after 90 minutes of airtime. Would benefit from another 5 years of bottle time.

Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

I paired it with a big piece of steak.

A blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano. Aged for 24 months in oak barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

Remarkably good. A combination of polished leather, blackberry and dark plums on both nose and palate. Clearly tempranillo but unlike any rioja I have had before

Christmas gift. Fantastic classic Rioja with a good blend of flavors, none overriding the others.

Visually a ruby red with earthy brown hues. Cherry, pomegranate, and strong licorice on the nose. Round present tannins with tangy medium acidic finish. Started to open up even after 10 minutes.

Deep raspberries, a hint of pepper after. Nice, medium tannins, but not overly dry. Superb food wine, rich but not overpowering. Would pair with so many things.

Damn good Rioja for $8.99 on sale at Costco. Wine Access, a site run by Master’s of Wine and Master Sommeliers, mentioned this as one of their case buys of the year. I would have to agree.
