Gia Opera Pia Barolo Nebbiolo

Nose: Pumpkin pie spice, whipped cream, candied pecans, chocolate ganache with stewed fruit, turkey and gravy (note: having with lamb in June ;) ) and a hint of menthol on the finish.

Palate: pumpkin pie spice, tobacco, cinnamon ice cream, slight menthol, stewed rasberries

Beautiful texture, elegant, silky, still solid structure. So freaking pretty.

Vintage 1955 - we had a great vertical tasting ot this #piemonte #nebbioli wine , Thanks to Eric. This 1955 was absolutely awesome to me: spicy cake, caramel, apple syrup. Velvet taste, good concentration and excellent balance. A marvelous experience to taste history. / eg all tasted blind. #blindtasting

Vintage 1975? Too old

Like visiting a cobbler if it was Sofia Loren that was working on your shoes.

Still a baby. Tannins are like a clenched fist but it's got it's fruit. @Gusto

Spectacular example of 1967 Barolo. unbelievable deep red color black tea and roses on the pallet this is a reference wine. Period.

Ok but somewhat tired. Interesting to taste however.

Over the hill and flawed

Still a young stunner. Dark chocolate, herbs & dark red fruits: such a treat!
