Initially softer and more savory than your average Barbaresco, but we’re drinking a 2011 in 2018. Delicious with food as the tannins and dark cherry flavors come forward. Day 2: no help. This wine is missing some acid for balance. Slightly oxidized notes of bruised apple and prune.

Jul 31st, 20231998 vintage on Dec 23, 2017 at Mucca Osteria (from Bob’s cellar purchased at K&L). Perfectly cellared. Rich and full bodied Barolo with mature complexity. Will age for several more years but ready to drink now. Preceded by Vigneti Massa Derthona and Giuseppe Cortese Rabajá 2012.
