Once you get past that it's not at all what you're expecting, it really is quite nice. Very intense dark fruit and unsweetened cinnamon. Almost herbal on the back end and the alcohol penetrates right to your nose. Despite its apparent lack of balance, I'd say this is another keeper from the Antinori family.

Deep color, very well balanced, black fruit, black cherry, fig, tanins are medium. Goes very well with roasted duck, chicken red meat, risotto, mushrooms.
