The 2009 was very young and one dimensional. Decanting helped some. Way over priced here for what it is.

Ripe cherries, dried strawberry, licorice, rose petal, tar, and spice. Very elegant and refined. Beautiful, intoxicating nose. This still has room to develop more with age.

Firm tannins, structured notes of wet leaves, dark violet, plum, cured leather, a touch of pine and hints of hazelnut chocolate for this Barolo commune-only sourced “Barolo di Barolo” somewhat difficult to find outside the region. Delicious but could be incredible in 2022-26 (but who can wait!...)

Seemed a bit modern and oaky for my taste. Pretty good complexity, dark fruit, licorice, tobacco. Very powerful, but maybe needs more time in the bottle to smooth it out.
