Drinking “Scarrone” while looking at the Scarrone vineyard in Castiglione Falletto - the best way to enjoy this well-structured Barbera. — 5 years ago
Spicy, with light ruby color and almost a Sangiovese-like aroma of red fruits, cherry, raspberry and wet autumn birch tree leaves. Very drinkable and probably great match for lamb kebabs or other southern Russia cuisine. Great deal at $11 in heart of Moscow. — 8 years ago
Blueberry and plum notes on a soft tannic base. Not much wood as most Slovenian wines aren’t oaked much this a nice fresh flavor. Dry but not overly tannic. Great Slovenian wine. — 5 years ago
Firm tannins, structured notes of wet leaves, dark violet, plum, cured leather, a touch of pine and hints of hazelnut chocolate for this Barolo commune-only sourced “Barolo di Barolo” somewhat difficult to find outside the region. Delicious but could be incredible in 2022-26 (but who can wait!...) — 5 years ago
Nice Assisi red blend table wine with unusually square tannins and darker than expected for the level of wine (provenance perhaps?). Dark red fruits, plum, blueberry, mocha finish, somewhat sweet notes on the finish. — 8 years ago
Interesting blend of Campania red grapes (Aglianico, Piedirosso and Tintare) with juicy red berry, citrus, tobacco leaf and floral notes on a soft tannic base. Perfect for an Amalfi Coast evening on a terrace. — 5 years ago
