Smoked earth and truffle and seared beef, raspberry and blackberry with graphite and red cherry flex big terroir muscle showing baked poppyseed, roses, burnt rubber and a grain of mint, aromatically. Apocalyptic, ecstatically. Raspberry-cherry reduction with a rich cranberry tart, morel, smoked cherry and red currants, fig and allspice; endlessly transmogrifying into nuanced decadence. Amazing, seductive, bold.

This had a brawny, rustic & masculine style, showing dark berry fruits, wild herbs, earth, rusty iron & spice. Needs more time as it seems to be aging at a glacial pace.

VA. Too much acidity, even when paired with acidic food. There was a brooding fruit that seemed to circle the camp, but never ventured in.

2001 vintage. Evolving very nicely.

Drinking well that seems to be nearing maturity. Consistent with my prior notes.

Big broad and even a little rustic - direkt Import by K & L wines. Dark cherries, earthy, velvety, tobacco. Well balanced. Great juice. Drink now at its peak.

I have been opening up a lot of 05’s lately to check on their progress. This had red & black fruits, dry extract, underbrush, mineral & earth showing a more austere & savage style.
