A lovely, luxurious and archetypal version of Syrah that showed very well alongside the other late-90’s examples from Hermitage on the table. I felt this showed a little bit better than the “La Chapelle” but it was really close. It’s showing some charming secondary characteristics but has plenty of gas left in the tank.

Absolutely gorgeous wine. Young, savory tones of smoked meats, with tarragon, black pepper, coffee, cocoa nibs, ripe dark fruits, beautiful tannin structure, and so elegant for all it's power.

From 98’ this beautiful Syrah has aged well revealing violets, blueberry, smoke with dark brooding undertones.

Nice and mature Rhône. Deep ruby-garnet color. Dark fruit, spice, bacon fat and hint of leather. Powerful yet gentle in the palate . Long finish.
