Stunningly extracted, concentrated and rich red that led with a velvety assault of undergrowth and wet earthy cat fur, and was followed by a big, round and brambly attack of blackberry jam, asian spices. Dark mineral tones. You gotta give this baby points just for the name, right out of Harry Potter, but as good as it was, not quite the 98 it advertised from Parker. I think this has years to go but the Syrah tannins, skin I sensed more, make me uncertain this is a super long hauler. I’d try a bottle now with food you’d pair a great young Shiraz to and give it a 3 hr decant.
