Cavanna Barbaresco Nebbiolo
Very nice Barbaresco. Perfect food wine. Light and crisp acidity. Should be cellared for a few years but who has the time. Good value, too.

Mar 25th, 2023What I’m looking for in Nebbiolo - great value for Barbaresco. Quite young but we opened it anyway. Would be really lovely in several more years.

Mar 25th, 2022Love good value Italians! This (2017)will be excellent in a few more years, but was drinking quite well even now. Juicy and tart red fruit up front, bright tomatoes, a touch of fennel, paprika, earthy funkiness too. It was an excellent pairing with a beef short rib pasta sauce. I will be hunting down more bottles to add to my rotation.

Oct 31st, 2021The 2016 Barbaresco Cavanna is bold, punchy and full of character. I suppose technically, the Cavanna is a bit rustic, but there is just so much personality in the glass that I am willing to look past some of the more angular contours. Readers will find a deep, vibrant, old-school Barbaresco that offers a good bit of intensity as well as brawn. A burst of red berry fruit, iron, cedar, smoke and anise punctuates the substantial, super-expressive finish. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2020)

Oct 23rd, 2020Nose is average. Tar, roses, pretty balanced and serene. Juicy. Good fruit. Long. Not bad.

Feb 4th, 2020Dry, red raspberry, red cherry, licorice, dusty, hint of menthol, dried thyme, touch of violet, need time to let it opening up. Restrained expression in terms of nose and palate. Med plus tannin with med plus acidity.

Jun 21st, 2017So young but give it time and it's definitely rewarding! Great value for a Cru site!
