A lovely classic from Vonse Romanee, not a Grand Vin, more of a classic from the fin 2009 vintage. Deep Ruby color, nose full of cassis, red current, red cherries, tea leaves, mushrooms and wet forest floor. Medium body with elegant tannins and lovely supporting acidity. A lovely smooth fruity finish. A pleasure nothing more nothing less. My score 88, drink to 2020.

This burg has loads of structure with mushroom, barnyard, and cherry flavors. The age allowed a little prune flavor to come through on the finish. Nice wine.

Extremely lucky to have my friend open a Latour Vosne-Romanee in my birth year - took more than two hours to open up but hit all the right dark fruit and coffee notes. Not for the faint hearted but well rewarded for patience.
