Clos du Roi Corton Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Needs time but showing well now. Has a delicious youthful freshness.

Fatty - not "fat," bacon-like, silky. Mesquite smoked ripe red cherries.

Very good burg. Think I liked the Aloxe Corton a little bit better. Believe they were both 2011 vintage

Pale ruby colored. Medium body. Strawberry, raspberry, red cherry. Muted fruit and soft tannins. Bit of earthiness, tobacco, red licorice. Starting to drink well but I can see this improve in time. Not necessarily my favorite style but very enjoyable.

Nice old world pinot. Muted fruit. Soft tannins. I like it.

2009, lovely once it opened up.

Orange limb. Fresh red fruit nose. Wild ripe mixed red fruit juicy mouthfull

Red fruits, soil, high acid, short finish. This comes across as a mediocre village Bourgogne. Cannot believe that this is grand cru.

Delicious. A little young but opened up nicely to air. Red cherry and a hint of spice. Lots of tannins which softened a bit and should soften in bottle with age.
