2021 is so classic in the Rhone. Nose is red berries, black berries and very elegant and restrained. Very mineral. So subtle and beautiful. Palate is so round, understated, fresh and pure. This is stunning. Perfumed and so elegant now with air. Some violets. What elegant and refined tannins. This is utterly classic and 21 is as classic in the Rhone as it is in Burgundy. This is blowing me away. Now black olive tapenade, blueberry, and stunning florals. Really compelling wine. Palate is so fresh, elegant and rainwater like. Just such a unique expression in a unique vintage. Really wow stuff and so different than the usual black fruited, opulent and inky Rhone wines of 2019/2020/2017/2018. Nose is so gorgeous. Subtle. Palate is so compact. Wonderful.
Overnight this has gotten crazy. The most subtle and beautiful nose ever. Florals and berries that are so so precise. Wow. Palate has perfect balance and poise. Stunning purity and freshness and not at all squishy and over the top. So elegant. 9.6.

So deep and juicy with such great accessibility as 20 is so stunning right now. Rich and fresh and just such wonderful energy. Haven’t had this much energy in Cornas in so so long. Wow. Crushed rocks abound now on the nose with blueberry and blackberry flesh and skins. What silken texture and sweet powdery tannins. Will be back as it opens. After an hour, wow! Nose is so well integrated and has a Burgundian complexity. Just insane aromas. Palate is now more juicy and the fruit is more present as is the silken structure. A beauty.

Oct 24th, 2023As much as the 12/14 were great wines and with even better close out prices the wines Jacques are making now are much better. Stunning granitic nose of blueberry, blackberry, pulverized stones, minerals, lavender and other florals and just so much more. This is stunning. A 9.7 nose. The palate is so elegant. Wow. Luscious fruit and drop dead purity and unreal finesse. Like Juge like. Wow. Textured, holographic and so so nimble. One of the most Burgundian Cornas that I have ever had. It is so supple and playful in the mouth but that belies it’s wonderful hidden and silky structure. A stunning stunning bottle of Cornas. This is god tier juicy. Better in 5 years but wow today with a decant.

KERPOW!! What a nose. Took a while to open and blow off, but when it did the nose filled the room with Rhone yummyness! Tasted over three nights... second was best.

Incredible balance... Bright black cherries, perky tannins and smooth touch of oak. Aged perfectly. Purchased in Cornas. Saved and drank on 14th wedding anniversary

young but no baby fat. linear, iron and blood, classically styled, eminently drinkable. am gonna lose a bottle or two for a few years and I expect they will be crazypants good.
