Le Mistral (USA)
Single Vineyard Monterey County Joseph's Blend
More medium than I expected. The obvious notes we got were Mexican chocolate but with a peppery kick and a leather finish. Could use a few more years in the cellar.

Jul 4th, 2019Drank at Camp with papa’s smoked venison haunch. Balances good dark fruit and earthiness. Good pairing with the food. Also good after.

Apr 28th, 2024Dry, medium-bodied red. Super balanced and versatile. Would overpower lighter fish flavors, but any chicken > pork > beef pairing would land with aplomb.

Aug 28th, 2023Big red fruit, raspberry, cherry, cranberry, strawberry, along with blackberries, currant, plum, and cinnamon. Medium tannins, high alcohol, high acid, and long finish. Big, bold, and fruit forward.

Jun 26th, 2020Huge fruit, blackberry, cranberry, dark cherry, cola, black tea, cinnamon, caramel, rhubarb, and molasses. High alcohol, high acid, medium plus tannins, and a long finish. Like drinking a fruit roll up. A bit on the hot side, though.
