Inky purple, the soils and climate here must contribute as the Barbera I recently had from them was also exceptionally dark.
Vibrantly fruit nose, plums. Palate was a bit rustic for me with a drying finish, though just medium weight.

This is DOC Pinolerese, a hilly area in western Piemonte. And it’s a style of Dolcetto that takes me back to a time when Dolcetto producers didn’t try to do too much. Crunchy nose has tons of pungent crushed stone and vivid purple berries. Even a little floral note. Intensely zingy dark berries hit the palate, which is bone dry and very stony. Cleansing finish with a slight, pleasant bitter note at the end. Great value.

That nose of lilac infused cherry is always a lead up to now the wine will be a soft one, with natural tinges.

Light, yet with body. Cherry and other stone fruit have a role here, more of that stone through and through, and river stone to bring up the end. The acidity is fresh, and full of life.
A Dolcetto worth tasting.

Just lovely. Crunchy red berries, cherries and intriguing iron notes on the fresh and juicy finish. Best Dolcetto in ages!

Ripe, sweet dark fruits, some mineral, really drinking well tonight, medium-long finish, very good.

Lovely Dolcetto, dark in character (purple and black fruit), super juicy, and layered with violet petals. Super
