Laurent Perrachon
Les Vignes Centenaires Juliénas Gamay
A bit sharpish. Showing a more evolved state than many 2015 I've been drinking.
Color deep ruby with some brick edging.
Nose savory, dried fruit leather, some stoney/mineral elements.
Palate medium bodied, drying but very fine, filigree tannin.
Finish a bit short and pleasant.
Looses quite a bit of character by day 2-3.
Should be good with classic/savory foods in the near term.

Lots of ripe dark cherry fruit over some nice BoJo granitic minerality. Seems a little disjointed in the mouth. Some heat and tannin are a bit too present. But there is decent acidity for a ‘15. Better with food.

Oct 28th, 2018Maybe I'm just too into a chilled Gamay. But I'd drink this darling over and again. Okay I would not pair with a green salad on its own but a salad plus a cheese plate plus pommes frites? For sure. Wish I'd brought a bottle to dinner at Cafe Stella though their Sicilian Nero d'Avola and Stolpman Syrah stood tall. This is the perfect balance of ripe alllllllmost but not quite jammy cherries and blackberries and green but nice enough tannins. It is low-ish for a red in alcohol (13%) and medium in acid and body. It's the perfect balance between "I want a serious wine" and "I want something to go with all the small plates we just ordered"...all over all good

Nov 2nd, 2017A bright, angular wine with an acid core that serves as the fulcrum around which other aspects of this wine flows. The 2015 Laurent Perrachon Juliénas Vieilles Vigne Centenaires displays slightly chewy tannins encasing bright cranberries and rose hips that merge with crushed watercress and chervil followed by stratified, rock strewn soil. 13.0% ABV | Sample

Jul 24th, 2017Light ruby red. Layered nose with lots of red berries and floral notes, a touch earthy, some mushrooms and a hint of minerality. Moderate acidity (7/10) and low tannins (4/10). Light to medium body with tons of red cherries and a touch of forest floor. Long finish. Gave this a nice decant for around an hour or two, even with that this is very young. Drink till 2027.

Apr 19th, 2017Very nicely composed. Dark spicy gamay fruit and loads of granitic stones. Fades a little too quickly to be great.
