Previous tasters defined this as “powerful,” and I tend to agree. The poor-quality stems don’t help matters. The nose displays burnt oak, brambles and charcoal. The palate is muscular. Tannins are still not resolved. Overripe black currants, spices and leather finish what is a rugged presentation. Very enjoyable, but may not further improve from where it is today.

Made by an Orinda neighbor. Nice package. Bold fruit, tasted 09 cab. Hints of tootsie roll.

The last of our 2005 Cabs. Still solid after 17 years. Tannins are still evident with a BB long after taste. We’ll miss this vintage.

2005 Cab poured in 2021. Light fruit with subtle tannins. I prefer a more bolder Cab but this was very good.
